Welcome to the "sister" site of www.mosshollowpottery.com  Please visit that site for project galleries and supplies!

Surivied April!  A huge thanks to all of you who visited me at BeadFest and STITCHES Sputh.  Both shows were absolutely awesome.

No shows in May and June as I'm working on a new kumihimo book that I hope to have finished by September. But, I'll be back on JTV's Jewel School on June 10/11--that's a Wed and Thursday.  They just added Wed to the line up as it makes it eaiser for artist/designers to make the trip.

The BeadSmith is going forward with both my aluminum and macrame projects and we're rewroking the aluminum book now.  The macrame will follow shortly afterwards. Both projects will be availabel in stores, JTV, and at mosshollowpottery.com

I'm really enjoying the mild weather we're having here in NE Pennsylvania.  Yesterday I went to shoot some video tutorials for the Jewelry Making Professor; lots of fun with Gina Galli!

If you haven't been over to the Jewelry Making Professor website it's worth a vis.  Lot's of tutorials for not a lot of money.  Well worth the subscription price for many jewelry makers.

I shot 3 different version of finger braid (off-board) projects which are all technique videos.  This means that they are all available for use to those of you who sell your work, no copyrights, trademarks, or design rights attached.  All will be available to subscribers and one will be available for purchase with product kits.

My hand-painting and dying projects are progressing and I'll have this line of products available for debut at BeadFest Spring in Oaks, PA in April.   It's a slow process but I'm enjoying it!

Licorice Leather!

Lot's of news this time out!  Leather is the "it" item for 2012, especially Licorice Leather, and I've got lots and lots of it.

The hottest new product straight from Europe is Licorice Leather.  It's approx 7mm wide and 4mm thick and it's unlike anything else on the market.  It does require special findings so be sure to look at those while your over atwww.mosshollowpottery.com.  They're listed under the Licorice Leather Category.

I'm going into the studio next week to shoot two new video tutorials.  One is the Continuous Circles concept which I'll be teaching at BeadFest Spring on April 12th.  (You can register for the class at the BeadFest website).  And the other is "A New Twist on the Leather Cuff".  it's a simple braided leather and bead technique that lends itself nicely to the wrapped cuff bracelet.  Photo on my facebook page!

Two Facebook sites that will be of interest to those of you who braid are Braiding Britian and Kumihimo Group.  Lot's of great activity on both sites.

The BeadSmith is moving forward with the kumihimo project kits that I developed for them featuring the Elegant Elements line of box clasps.  I saw the packaging for the line at the winter trade shows and it's just the cutest thing!  I'm really excitied and can hardly wait for them to start shipping!

Happy Braiding!

Anne

Off to Jewel School!

Remember the webstore is always open at www.mosshollowpottery.com  It's your one stop shop for all things kumihimo!

I'll be leaving for Knoxville in the morning where Jewel School will be featuring kumihimo on both Sunday and Monday (Feb. 12 & 13).  We'll be adding some new products to the line up and revisiting the use of long magatamas in kumihimo.

In April, I'll be teaching a class on Anodized Aluminum at BeadFest Philadelphia Spring in Oaks, PA.  Registration for othe class is now open at the BeadFest website.  If you're new to wire work, or have avoided it because working with copper is too difficult and sterling is too expensive you should check out this class.  It's crazy good fun and the col,ors are so cool!

I'll also be exhibiting at BeadFest Spring.  Lot's of kumihimo items, including my new hand-painted line of rattail and hand dyed/hand painted silks all perfect for kumihimo and more.  All of the new line of kumihimo findings will be at the show and thes  findings also work great with leather.  So, I'll have a full line of leather available.

Licorice Leather, a great new product, will be available at the show (this product is so awesome--I just feel in love with it the first time I saw it)!   I'll try to get a gallery up at www.mosshollowpottery.com as well as get a category set up so you can purchase this ultra-sweet line.

Welcome to the New Year!  It's been pretty mild here in NorthEastern PA so I'm a happy camper!

January 21 & 22 I'll be in Phoenix, AZ at the TNNA shows (The National NeedleArts Association)..  This will be my first tijme at this event and I'm so excitied!  I just love textiles and can't wait to see all that's new for 2010.  Look for me at The BeadSmith.

The next weekend, January 28 -30, I'll be a the the CHA (Craft & Hobby Associate) Winter show in Anahiem, CA.  I'm teaching a kumihimo workshop on Monday the 30th and spaces are filling rapidly.  If you're in the area and are interested in this workshop you'll want to go to the CHA website right away to sign up.

My first 2010 appearance on Jewel School (go to jtv.com to find the station in your market) will be on Sunday and Monday February 12 & 13.  This is a good way to hear all about what yu can make with kumihimo braids so be sure to tune in.

Welcome to Anne Dilker and Moss Hollow Pottery

OK, so Moss Hollow Pottery is a wierd name for a business that's concentrated in beads, jewelry design and kumihimo braids.  What can I say?  I started out as potter, then made porcelain beads and pendants and kumihimo just happened to take over the entrie business.  It's a good problem to have but it does make it hard to justify the name.  Eventually I'll back to making beads and pendants.

Check the webstore at www.mosshollowpottery.com frequently for new and updated kumihimo items and projects.  I'm constantly working with suppliers to develop new end caps and have started working on my own line of textiles including hand painted and dyed silks and rattail!
