Quiet Christmas

Rich and I enjoyed a quite day at home!  Wishing you all a joyful and prosperous New Year!

2012 will open a lot of new doors for me.  I'll be teaching a kumihimo workshop at the CHA Winter Showe in Anahiem, CA in January.  Space is limitied so if you're interested you might want to sign up now.

Earlier in January I'll be traveling to Phoenix with the BeadSmith to participate in the TNNA Show.  I'm so excitied about this one!  I've never been to it before and, as you know, I just LOVE textiles.

It's likley that the 2nd or 3 rd week in Feburary will find me back i Knoxville for another Jewel School program on jtv.  Go to jtv.com to find the station in your market that airs the show.

I'll be participataing in far fewer local and regional shows this year but I have added the 2 Philadelphia BeadFests back to my line-up.  Now that they've found a venue where all the exhibitors are again on one floor itmakes sencse for me to return.  I will be teaching a class on Anodized Aluminum at BeadFest Philadelphia Spring.  Please  join us; this one's going to be a lot of fun!

A Beginner Blogger

I've had several request to start a blog about kumihimo for jewelers.  And, frankly, it seems like a "no-brainer" but it's a tad intimidating to one who has zero experience.

But, as my father used to say, "You're never gonna learn a day younger", here's my attempt to provide answers to questions, ideas on new kumihimo ideas, and just anything that comes to mind in the jewelry design arena.

My goal will be add posts to the blog at least once a week throughout 2012.  Given that it's now Dec 23, 2011 I guess it's a Pre-New Year's Resolution!

Stayed tuned, we'll see it goes.  If you have any questions you'd like to have me answer for you, or kumihimo projects that you're especially proud of just send along to me.

Welcome to Anne Dilker and Moss Hollow Pottery

OK, so Moss Hollow Pottery is a wierd name for a business that's concentrated in beads, jewelry design and kumihimo braids.  What can I say?  I started out as potter, then made porcelain beads and pendants and kumihimo just happened to take over the entrie business.  It's a good problem to have but it does make it hard to justify the name.  Eventually I'll back to making beads and pendants.
